What we’re looking for
We are seeking a talented, endlessly curious individual to join our team. You’ll be working closely with one of our portfolio companies in the fintech sector as part of the Data Team within the Engineering Department. This company is a payment service provider that operates across Southeast Asia the SEA. This company processing >US$500m monthly across 10+ currencies by working with local payment gateways, aggregating the payment solutions as a one-stop solution for international businesses. We’re looking for individuals who are driven to create meaningful value, take full ownership of what they build, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Responsibilities
- Analyse complex data sets to identify trends and provide actionable insights for business and market strategies, including merchant performance reports.
- Develop and manage dashboards, BI solutions, and ad-hoc analysis to support business and operational needs.
- Monitor and maintain internal metrics, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for platform performance and key business KPIs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, improve products, and align reporting solutions with business objectives.
- Use data-driven techniques to identify weaknesses in payment products and implement proactive improvements.
- Build data products and tools to empower merchants with insights and best practices in the payments domain.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with 5+ years of experience in BI Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Analysis, or Data Science, with a focus on building data pipelines and analysing large datasets to solve complex problems.
- Expertise in SQL and Python, combined with strong analytical and quantitative skills, and a passion for crafting compelling data narratives.
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., Redash, Metabase) and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Snowflake) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience working with financial systems and resolving large-scale technical challenges.
- Excellent ability to manage workflows and communications effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, with the ability to handle ambiguity and prioritise tasks effectively.
